Project Goals, Objectives and Expected Outputs


Project Goals:

The Project has identified the following Key Result Areas: 

  1. Improvement in the physical and environmental well-being of the target community;
  2. Improvement in the social well-being of the community's residents;
  3. Multi-stakeholder/counter-parting of all stakeholders;
  4. Institution building for the NGOs who will implement the project.

Project Objectives:

Specifically, the project intends to: 

  1. Develop and implement initiatives on addressing critical problems in urban poor communities in selected project sites;
  2. Demonstrate urban poor community-based upgrading approaches, including demand-driven slum upgrading models developed in collaboration with non-government organizations and civil society group.

Expected Outputs: 

  1. Implementation of Pilot urban poor community upgrading projects in Five (5) selected Cities;
  2. Publication of Urban Poor Community Renewal Handbook;
  3. Evaluation report to cull out lessons learned and draw out recommendations for future up scaling projects
